My friend Janice and I began the first leg of the Great Northern Walk today, Woolwich to Newcastle, 250 kilometers. We managed 19 km, mostly through National Park. It was very beautiful, very few people, lots of lizards, and winding up and around rivers and escarpments. We found some sacred sites,
and traversed varying landscapes. A great day, not too hot. Feel good now, and we decided to do the walk gradually over the year.
